Emma's Introduction to the Kingdom of Wonder

Cambodia is called the 'Kingdom of Wonder', and is associated with the colour of orange gold. These signify the bright robes of monks, stunning sunsets and the vibrant culture it wishes to share with the world.

About the Author:

My choice of Cambodia for this project was to highlight all aspects of a beautiful, but sometimes overlooked nation - the good, the bad and the unexpected. The kingdom is a treasure for the tourism industry, not only for the citizens who call it home, but for the many visitors who travel there.

Introduction to Cambodia:

The Kingdom of Cambodia is nestled in south east Asia and shares boarders with three countries; Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. It has a rich history which has something to offer every kind of traveller and continues to attract visitors from all over the world. With a dark past of war and genocide which can still be seen today, the country has transformed from a war zone into a stunning reminder of the resilience of it's people and it's culture.

Cambodia's beaches are all located on the Gulf of Thailand and are considered some of the most spectacular in the world, so it is a popular beach destination for Chinese and other foreign visitors. Cambodia saw 1.5 million tourists during the first quarter of 2017, up from 1.3 million in 2016 and continues to grow. The hospitality and tourism industry provides much needed revenue and employment for the citizens of the country.
